Yasmeen Sinkler

CSW

Hello! I’m Yasmeen, a CSW at Mindful Mending in Louisville, KY.‍ ‍

I’m glad you’re here and look forward to the chance to support you and your child.

Therapy is about creating a safe connection where kids and teens feel heard. I bring my clinical training and personal understanding of life’s challenges to every session. I know reaching out takes courage, and progress often comes in small steps. My style is collaborative and relational, I meet people where they are, building trust through empathy, curiosity, and respect.

I specialize in working with children (ages 3-18), teens, and families who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, low self-esteem, developmental challenges, and life transitions. Sessions are tailored to each child. I often use play, art, movement, and creative activities alongside other tools to help clients express themselves, build confidence, and develop skills that last beyond our time together. Everything I do is grounded in trauma-informed care.

My Background and Approach:

My Bachelors degree and Masters degree in Social Work are both from the University of Louisville. With experience in the child welfare system, I’ve supported many children and families facing complex trauma and system-related stress. I draw from play therapy, CBT, somatic practices, and humanistic approaches to create flexible, individualized plans. My priority is helping kids feel safe and empowered while giving families strategies for home.

Outside the Office:

In my free time I stay active with movement and creative projects. I love hiking and backpacking, taking care of my 13 pets and 100+ houseplants, gardening, cooking and staying curious about the world around me.

I believe every child and family deserves accessible, high-quality mental health support. I work hard to make that possible. I look forward to meeting you!
