Tessa Rupert

LPCA

A young woman with long blonde hair smiling against a light blue background.

Hi, my name is Tessa Rupert. I am an LPCA at Mindful Mending.

I am passionate about working with children, teens, and young adults who are seeking assistance with neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD, Autism, intellectual disorders, etc.), difficult transitions, impulse control concerns, trauma, depression, anxiety, and motivation for change.

To assist my clients in meeting their needs, I utilize therapies that include expressive techniques, play therapy techniques, motivational interviewing, DBT, and CBT. In the future, I aspire to expand my toolbox by receiving an EMDR certification and becoming an RPT.

My Educational Background:

I received my B.S. in Psychology and interned with a non-profit organization to assist community members in advocating for themselves and their loved ones.

After this, I completed an M.Ed. program at UofL and was granted the title of LPCA. During this time, I interned at a non-profit therapy group that expanded my knowledge on working with a diverse range of community members with varying needs.

While working on my M.Ed., I sought employment at inpatient mental health facilities. I collaborated with several individuals who struggled with positive communication skills, understanding their trauma, and improving self-esteem. In my time at these facilities, I had the privilege of learning the importance of empathy and understanding to promote growth and healing during vulnerable times.

I am excited about meeting you soon!
