Tessa Rupert

Hi, my name is Tessa! Here is a little bit of information about me:

I received my B.S. in Psychology and interned with a non-profit organization to assist community members in advocating for themselves and their loved ones.

After this, I entered an M.Ed. program and recently graduated from UofL to become a professional counselor. During this time, I interned at a non-profit therapy group that expanded my knowledge on working with a diverse range of community members with varying needs.

While completing my M.Ed., I worked in inpatient mental health facilities. I collaborated with several individuals within the foster care program and the state's custody. In my time at these facilities, I had the privilege of learning the importance of empathy and understanding to promote growth and healing in vulnerable times.

I am passionate about working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders and disruptive, impulse control, and conduct disorders.

To assist my clients in meeting their needs, I utilize therapies that include expressive techniques, play therapy techniques, motivational interviewing, DBT, and CBT. In the future, I aspire to expand my toolbox by receiving an EMDR certification and becoming an RPT.

I am excited to meet you soon!
